Manakau Bowling Club
Another round of the Horowhenua 5’s took place this afternoon at the Manakau green and by the end of play, our team won their Fours and Pairs but lost both the Singles and Triples.
I watched quite a bit of the play and was interesting to see how the green was playing; it must be about 15 years ago since I had last played there and it looked as though things were running much better now that back in those times.
Joe found playing the local greenkeeper quite a problem but it would seem that the pairs game suited him.
I didn’t see the end of the Triples, but Coral has since told me that drawing a second shot close to the Jack was too tempting a target, and the opposing skip hit the head and gained points for the win.
They’ve done their bit. Time for the skip to oblige.
Coral delivers her bowl.
Worth mentioning that the Manakau Club’s hospitality is top class. Congratulations go to all who do so much to welcome all bowlers.
