A 12.30pm start today for the final day of Rotary. Bother greens were ready and even though the weather was threatening, games got under way.
Light showers and wind joined in the games but at least the first game of 10 ends was completed. It didn’t take long to make the cotula green start to puddle as heavy showers arrived soon after the start of the 2nd game and the co-0rdinator, Joe Johnson rang the bell to call all games off.
Consequently, the first round games results only were added to clubs’ overall tallies for the season.
Results presented by Joe were:
Foxton Beach – 55, Central Levin – 77, Shannon – 55, Levin-89, RSA-63, Waitarere Beach-62
As a result the Shield for winning this year’s trophy was presented to the Levin Bowling Club.
The afternoon ended with a wonderful Afternoon Tea and our thanks go to our ladies who assisted in one way and another in putting this on, greatly appreciated.
Special thanks also go to Joe Johnson and helper Francis Wilson who were the organisers of Rotary this year.
