Friday was the day when the Champion of the Women’s Fours was found.
Dianne Short’s team had the morning bye so the other finalist had to be found between Susan Boxall’s and Ra Walker’s teams.
It was sad news to hear that Margaret Mackay, a player in Susan’s four had been taken to hospital so a replacement had to be found.
Liz Gardiner filled in and the game got under way, finally ending with Ra’s team the winner.
The final in the afternoon found Ra’s team too strong for Dianne’s, with the game conceded after 15 ends with the score at 22-3.
