For many it must be hard to believe, but it is true, we went out this afternoon for a roll-up on our green. It really shows how much we enjoy the game of bowls.
The weather has been in control since last Saturday when it made the Shanghai Singles to be called off. It was mainly the strong winds that were the cause, but from Monday on, we have had rain, thunder. lightening and wind like we haven’t seen before, certainly not in my memory.
Finally we saw more of the sky today and by afternoon, no further rain, so some club members turned up ready to take part in a roll-up. It was still ‘draughty’ and cold, but we all got well wrapped up and played our games.
Good Fun? Not sure about that really, but at least we were out exercising our bodies and minds and at the end of play, got together for our usual time of relaxation.
Let’s hope the weekend turns out fine for the last of the winter championships, the Mixed Triples.
