Our Greenkeeper, TJ, starred in the latest Chronicle with an account about his birthright and a photo as well.
To match the photo, today at the club, I was able to get a photo of him on his knees – Also “Down to Earth,” repairing one of the pipes near the clubrooms which has been leaking lately. We are lucky that he has such a wide range of skills.
Added to today’s variety, we were recipients of a lovely afternoon tea, courtesy of Hear and See- our thanks for their support.
On Green 2, we saw our team responsible for its condition – Green Consultant Michael Hearsey, Green Superintendent Neville Turnbull and Green keeper Tony Jones, inspecting and planning the work to be carried out in the days and weeks to come. It certainly is looking very good at the moment.
Some more good news – Life Member Bob is now in Horowhenua Hospital for rehabilitation after a spell in Palmerston North Hospital. I popped in to see him this afternoon and was pleased to hear that he is making steady progress with his recovery. (Visiting time is between 2pm and 8.00pm)
And what about bowls?? At 11.00am I went out to my mail box and on returning, said to my wife that anyone going to bowls today was mad. It felt so cold and I just couldn’t imagine it being a game to play today. Nearing 1.00pm, it didn’t seem so bad, so off I went to the club and played. Certainly not tropical, but not too bad and over 30 others thought the same obviously. A good turn out.
