Women’s Interclub

Our Women’s Reserve 7’s played at Central Levin, aiming to qualify for the top four playoff.

Three rounds were played and results were as follows:

Ra Walker played great bowls in her 3 singles, winning them all. A great effort.

Audrey Sciascia (s) and Margaret Mackay had a win and a loss in their first two games and entered the last end of their third game trailing by 1. With only one bowl left to play, our girls were down on the head by two. Audrey played a great bowl, hitting the two opposition shot bowls and moved the Jack enough to give her team two points for a win. A real pressure shot and a great relief once things settled down with the win achieved.

The Fours – Dianne Short(s), Hazel Rose, Susan Boxall and Alice Spicer managed a draw and two losses in their three games.

The final positions in the competition have not been published yet but I understand that our team has qualified for the play off in third place, a very good effort.

Overall, the day had been successful for our Women’s team, well done ladies.

Announced today was the KCBC’s Tararua Quadrangular Rep team for the games to be played on January 29th 2012, hosted in the Manawatu Centre.

Congratulations go to Trevor Tuatara who has been selected as the lead in the Men’s A Team fours.

David Walker is also selected. He will play in the Men’s B Team as Number 2 in the Fours.

Congratulations to these players.
