A new club sign welcomed members when they arrived this morning for this years AGM, the 105th for the club. There was a good attendance of about 50 members who were interested in hearing of the club’s present situation, the election of elective positions and to hear and discuss plans for the 2012-13 season.
Ken Hayward, President for the last two seasons, stood down and after an election, Hazel Rose took over the position for the new season, and joining Vice President Margaret Griffin will be Stafford Ball who takes over the 2nd position from Brian Cooper who will be concentrating on his great work with Business House Bowls.
Marion Ball continues in her role as Secretary, Paul Gardner as Treasurer and Fred Adams as Club Captain.
Voting for the 4 places on the men’s Match Committee was necessary and resulted in Fred Adams, Bill Clelland, Pat Wikstrom and Joe Wnek taking the positions; no election was necessary for the four women’s positions and will be held by Margaret Griffin, Margaret Lowndes, Coral Mills and Lodzia Wnek.
This years Executive members will be Jim Bagnell, Trevor Turnbull, Margaret MacKay and Dianne Short while Neville Turnbull will be the Club’s Delegate at Centre.
Continuing as our selectors are Neville Turnbull and Lodzia and Barry Cross will hold the position of Club Reviewer.
I will report on other points raised and discussed and make the changes necessary to the Club’s Website in the days to come.
We thank those who offer themselves for positions that will help the club continue as a place to enjoy life. Let’s hope the weather takes notice and joins in, especially for the winter activities now taking their place in our year’s activities.
