It turned out a good weather day for the 2x4x2 gala and the 12 teams that had entered must have enjoyed the sun when it was out shining.
Games started at 10am and four rounds of eight ends were played. I wasn’t there but have heard the competition was very close – this showed up when there were 5 teams with 3 wins entering the last round and all but one of them won their last game as well. Consequently not only ends won became most important but points as well and resulted in the following placings:
1st: Gary Wylie and Margaret MacKay 4 wins, 23 ends, 50 points
2nd: Susan Boxall and Paul Skilton – 4 wins, 23 ends, 43 points
3rd: Shooter and Jan Dawson – 4 wins, 22 ends, 27 points
4th: Rob Cotter and Liz Galloway – 4 wins, 19 ends, 5points
