BKC Men’s Triples

Two days of two bowl triples have been completed in weather noted for its wind, a real challenge to the competing teams.
Qualifying rounds were held at Central Levin and Bowls Levin yesterday with teams needing at least two out of three wins to go into today’s post section play. Fourteen teams achieved this and by the end of today’s play the finalists had been found.
Overnight rain left our cotula green puddled so it was necessary to put off the start of play to 11.00am and this on the artificial green.
One would have to say it was fine, but a strong cool wind added to the challenge.
The third round saw our club member, Neville Turnbull and his team, having a tight mach but in the end they went down to Rex Holmes and his Paraparaumu Beach team.
The other semi-final was played between Ian Mahoney’s Central Levin team and Ken Souto’s team from Waikanae, the latter coming out the winner.
The final will start tomorrow at 10am between Rex and Ken’s team. Let’s hope for a fine calm day.
