It started on Monday and came to an end today; BKC Women’s Open Singles, played on the Central Levin’s greens, and ended with our club player in the final.
We had three of our four entires who qualified for Post-section play, Hazel Dianne and Joan, but it was only Dianne left when the final 8 were reached.
During play the green was playing well but I have heard that with the heavy rain, some of the bowls were falling short.
The last four were now left and A Stevenson (21) won her game against D Collis (8) while the other match ended with D Short (21) winning against R Clark.
And so to the final, with our club member, Dianne, facing Audrey.
The final score showed Dianne Short (11) as the Runner – up to Audrey Stevenson (21)
Congratulation to both players for reaching and playing the final.

“At the end of play today in the Heartand Bank Women’s 2013 Open Singles, Audrey Stevenson (Paraparaumu Bch BC) beat Dianne Short (Levin) 21 – 11 to win this years event and achieve her 40th Centre title.
This is a marvelous achievement and the Centre congratulates Audrey on reaching the 40th.
