Just like summer again this afternoon which was an opportunity for Ken Hayward and Hildi Ewart playing the final of the Mixed Pairs that had not been played against Fred Adams and Jan Hayward before the end of the summer season .
The game throughout was quite close and after thirteen ends it read as 9 all. The climax came when with one end to go, Fred and Jan were leading 13 – 11 but all fell apart for them when Ken and Hildi picked up a 5 on the last end, taking the final score and the championship to 16-11. Congratulations

It was also a busy afternoon on the rest of the Dales artificial green; once the draw was made, mixed teams played triples and pairs, enjoying the game in a sunny afternoon.
As well, on the cotula green, mixed fertilizers were being spread by green keeper Tony Jones. We will be looking forward to again playing on that green when the new summer season .
