Our club flag flew at half mast today to acknowledge the passing of Life Member,Bob Skilton.
It was in 1973 when Bob joined the club and except for a short time away playing at the Waitarere Beach Bowling Club, he took at active part both on and off the greens at Levin
A skilled bowler, Bob won many club titles as can be viewed on our Honours Board and as well, helped in many capacities off the green. Always willing to give players advice, he officially held the Coach position in 1981-82 again in 1989 and 1992.
He was voted onto the committee in 1977, became the Vice President the following year and became the President for the next two years, 1979 and 1980. When part of the Manawatu Bowling Centre, Bob represented the club in 1979.
As can be seen, Bob was alway a willing helper and representative for the club.
In recent times, though not able to play the game, he was always interested in the club and its activities and when he could, came to view the game he loved.
