This weekend sees the playing of the Mixed Triples Championships.
Two days of winter weather set the background for the teams; frosty start, cold air, some light rain, overall a chilly day

Two wins were needed for the teams to go into Sunday’s post-section play and 7 teams managed this. The draw resulted as follows:

B McMahon v K Hayward,  F Adams v D Scrivener,  B Cooper v M Griffin  and N Turnbull  drew a bye.

One game that was played late in the first day saw two teams, both with only one win, seeking to get into post section play.
Entering the last end, the scoreboard showed that one team had four points lead. And when it was time for the skips to play their bowls, the trailing team was holding just one shot on the head.
The skip had three bowls to try to somehow win the game. His first and second attempts did not succeed so it was his last bowl left for the final chance to succeed.
Down the green came his blue bowl, it picked up the Jack and moved it a short way across the head to where some other bowls were resting. And as it turned out, Murray’s team were now holding five shots  giving them the win and entry into Post-section play.
Susan, his opposing skip, congratulated him on his great shot, as we also did, standing looking at the result of his bowl.
Congratulations Murray and your team, we look forward to seeing how things go today.
