Today saw Post-section play to find the winning team in the Mixed Triples Championship.
Another real winter’s day with the occasional light shower of rain and low temperatures making it essential for players to be well wrapped up.
The morning round got started at 9.00am and resulted in the following results:
B. McMahon 15 v K Hayward 8. F Adams 23 v D Scrivener 11
M Griffin 14 v B Cooper 13 ( N Turnbull – bye)
The semi final got underway with Neville’s team winning their match against Bronwyn’s team, 16 – 2.
The other game in this round was won by Fred Adams’ team against Murray Griffins’ 15-14
(It would appear that Murray played close games in each of his last three matches – each ending by one shot, winning twice and going down 14-15 on the last one.)
So to the final, Fred Adams, Joan Hayward and Omeka Feaunati playing against Neville Turnbull, John Adams and Sharon Turnbull, watched by warm spectators in the club rooms. ( it was bitterly cold out on the green).
It wasn’t easy for the players but Neville’s team scored more consistently and the game was conceded by Fred with 2 ends still to be played, the score at 13-3.
Congratulations to Neville and his team and also to all players who did their best under difficult conditions over the weekend.
