On Monday 1 December a fours team of the club’s ‘workers‘ went down to Raumati South B C to play in the annual Mexted Cup tournament. The team was made up of Shoota Ballinger (s), Jim Bagnall, Trevor Turnbull and Ken Hayward. Conditions were mixed with cool gusty winds but there was some sunshine to brighten part of the day. Four games were played under gala conditions and our team recorded wins over Levin RSA, Waitarere Beach and Raumati South but went down to a strong Central Levin which came out as the only four winners on the day and deservedly took home the Mexted Cup. Our team was one of two teams with three wins and would have won the event if we had beaten Central.
