The club final of the Grant’s Corner-to-Corner was played on Tuesday afternoon with our five weekly winners – Liz, Alice, Omeka, Jimmy and Paul – playing off in a three end final. After the five had played their two bowls on the first end Liz had let the girl’s side down by failing to get a bowl into the best seven. Alice had one and the three men had two bowls each for the second end. It was Paul who failed get into the top three for the last end with Omeka, Jimmy and Alice having one chance each. Alice led off and put her bowl, well, fairly close to the corner. The boys, however, were just not up to it when it came to deliver a decisive bowl so it was Alice who took away the gift from Grant’s.
