The first club championship the Mixed Balloted Triples was held over the weekend in beautiful conditions. The green was running fast for this time of the year and thanks must go to our new Green Superintendent Arne Janssen and his team of helpers. A large crowd of over 30 watch a high quality final which produced a very tight game until Jim Bagnall’s team scored a four and jumped out to a 12-7 lead. With only three ends to play, Bagnall’s lead Les Galloway along with team mate Pam Bagnall bowled too tightly to give any opportunity for Rob Cotter’s team of Barnaby Hamid and Donna Gripp to get a good score to breech the gap. It was particular pleasing to see how well our two juniors played. Les Galloway (2nd year bowler) and Donna Gripp (1st year bowler). On one particular end every one of their bowls were clapped, it was truly an amazing fight between these two. At times they out played their skips.
