2 Full Greens for Men’s Handicap Singles

The clubs handicap singles again has two full greens.  Saturday is qualifying day for the post section, players need to win two out of their three games.  Last years winner Grahame Law (6) over come a low handicap to win, this year he has dropped to (4) and has some hard games to qualify.  John Adam’s (3) who was beaten in last years final now is on scratch (0) and also has a difficult road to qualify. His first game is against Les Judd (6) a very steady bowler, then Ken Hayward (2) who has had great success in singles over recent years and then faces new and up coming star Stacey Thomas (8).  Stacey as a first year bowler has been handicap hard, this reflects the clubs option of  him. Omeka Feaumati who last year was on scratch now has a handicap of (3) and his first game will be a hum digger, playing Kerry Geertson (4).  This game could be the highlight of the first round of games. Omeka’s second game is against Mike Button (12) then if he needs to play his third game he will have to beat another rising star, a second year bowler that made last years semi final.  Pat Albert is on (8) and Omeka will have to be on his game to beat this tight drawing consistent player.  Some of the smart money might be on Robert Falconer, Rex Spicer or Peter Brown. However Robert (12) plays Peter (8) in the first game so one of them will get a lose. Robert then has another difficult game against Jimmy Adams (6) and finally Grahame Mathie (10). Grahame is another of our first year bowler that is showing huge potential.  Rex Spicer road might be a little bit easier but he will still need to play well to qualify and Peter Brown (8) although has a good handicap could still be out of the competition after two games as his second is against Joe Wnek (6) a very good draw bowler.

This is the hardest championship to win in our club regardless if you have a good handicap or not.  Good luck to all and play well.
