The annual fixture between the North and South areas of the Kapiti Centre was played today at Central Levin. Club’s nominated players to take part in the event and those chosen by the selector, played in different positions and events during the day. e.g. I skipped a Triples in the morning and played 2 in a different team in the afternoon. It is a competitive day and interesting seeing players out of their usual position.
Dianne Short, Margaret MacKay, Margaret Griffin and Alice Spicer were our women players and Omeka Feaunati, Paul Gardner and Ian Wenham were our men.
I played in two close games, a win by 1 and a loss by 1. Alice played singles in the afternoon and entered the last end with the score 20 all. Pleased to report that she won the game on the 39th end.
At the end of the day the results were announced as follows:
Men: North 20 points. South 12 points.
Women: North 16 points. South 16 points
So the trophy went to the North – 36 to 28.
On the 2nd May, Noel McCutcheon, Selwyn Riwaka, Brian Paquin and Steve Felgitscher will be representing the Kapiti Centre against the Hutt Valley representatives at the Kapiti Bowling Club. Congratulations to all these players.
