Two greens in action today, playing the Hammond Memorial Mixed Triples Gala, sponsored by Margaret Griffin, the daughter of the late Selby and Jean Hammond.
The Hammonds were very active bowlers and helpers at the club for many years when we had the men’s section, Levin Bowling club, and the Women’s Section known as Levin West. Both became Life Members of the club and their daughter, Margaret, carries on with the family tradition of being a great worker for the club.
The sun shone and visitors from Woodville, Otaki, Foxton Beach, and Central Levin, joined us for an interesting days bowling.
At the completion of the games, Margaret put on a special afternoon tea and we thank Connie Upston and Pat Hansen for their work in the kitchen; all others who helped in one way or the other were also thanked by Margaret for their efforts before and during the day.
