Saturday, January 01, 2011 New Years Day
Saturday 1st January 2011, New Year’s Day and a Mixed Pairs Progressive Mini Gala was held to celebrate the day.
Margret Griffin took charge and soon had the board with all the details noted so that the games could get under way. Seemed easy, but as it turned out, it was a bit confusing for many, so as can be seen in the photo, there were plenty of players present to offer their opinion on who was to play who!
Three games of six ends were scheduled but in the middle of the last game, the rain also decided to celebrate the New Year and joined in.
A lot of discussion was then necessary to sort out the winners; some had played only three ends in the last round whereas others had played four or even five. This was eventually sorted out (I don’t really know how)and the prizes were presented.
