There had been overnight rain and to most of us, we thought that the greens would not be available for Business House last night. I was quite surprised to see no sign of water on the cotula green and only a little on the Dales surface. When I arrived at about 5.30pm, some players were already loosening up for the start of the evenings two games.
No deterring these teams, straight into play, with real enthusiasm, enjoying their good bowls and not being too frustrated when things didn’t go the way they meant.
Friday is the day for our annual Haggis tournament. I’m sure that this day will also show participants having a great time – a warm welcome when players arrive, lunch supplied to all and at the end of the day, the haggis ceremony.
