The weather was fine for this special weekend, but unfortunately, not me. Just not well over the weekend but I was able to be at the club for the Official Opening.
Saturday afternoon opened with a good turnout of members and visitors and with 2.00pm arriving, President Ken Hayward welcomed all and gave an outline of the preparation and work involved in getting the new green down.
Barry Judd from the HDC, Dr Edin, the Eastern & Central CT and Michael Leggott, President of the Kapiti Bowling Centre, spoke of their organisation’s involvement and wished us all well for our Club’s future.
Time then for action, up went the first Jack, delivered by Life Member Neville Winiata and I was given the honour of delivering the first bowl.
