Good news, he used his new bowls yesterday and both bowler and bowl went very well. Will look to see how he performs in the next days to see if good things continue. Who am I talking about?? Just look on the green for a set of new bowls.
Something else new occurred last evening during Business House Bowls. This was the first round since all teams had been put into one of the two sections as a result of their success in the early games.
The top section was played on the cotula green and I was called in to do a measure to see who had the shot. It was close, but the measure showed that the yellow bowl was the closest. I stepped clear so that they could get the bowls back ready for the next end but that was when I discovered that they were playing under a new rule. Apparently this was the last end and there was only one point between the teams. What was different to our rules was that the two skips wanted to know who had the shot before they played their last bowl. The bowls arrived to loud applause – one team won the game but I have know ideas which one it was. They all seemed happy, even after I explained how our rules really work. All still seemed satisfied with the final result! Happy games at Business House.
