Late yesterday afternoon we held the first round of this seasons Corner to Corner competition, sponsored by Grants Whiskey.
Margaret MacKay is once again the organiser and she would have been pleased by the enthusiastic number who stayed after the Roll-Up to take part. Bit by bit contestants were whittled down, those with skill or luck going on until the winner was found.
As can be seen in this photo, it is often necessary for accurate measuring to take place – one presumes that is what is happening, though it could be helpful instructions being given from a player to Margaret!
A pity for the winner, Neville, all he received for winning this first round, was applause from the other contestants. Because his ‘trophy’ had not arrived, we were not able to join him in celebrating his win with a sample of the sponsor’s product.
