New Year Bowls Gets Started on Green 2
Not quite a summer feel about the afternoon but still a day that called out a very good number to have a roll-up.
Teams, mainly of triples, got under way and as usual, some interesting results. A game near mine showed up a large difference in the scores between the two teams. We had heard that one player was in fine form in a gala yesterday but this afternoon, things just weren’t the same. Mind you, we all have had a similar experience. Perhaps the wind today was not as kind as it apparently was the day before.
Good to see Gary back in action after his time at the nationals. He did very well in the Singles by all reports.
The photo below shows Murray making a close inspection of the head in his game. I seem to recognise the light blue bowls near the Jack. Not sure whether he is about to stroke the whole three of them or perhaps just a subtle move to get the shot bowl closer… But which is the shot??
