It’s been a little strange in some ways over the last few days. Certainly the summer season at our club has closed but we are lucky to have a very good artificial green to use over winter.
For three days from last Friday to Sunday, we had two teams playing at the Central Club and on the Saturday, I was able to watch some really class bowling from some top bowlers. The two greens were at their end of season and added a challenge as well, but all players from so many different clubs, seemed to be enjoying the overall challenge. I wasn’t able to see any of the play on Sunday but know that our two teams hadn’t faired too well.
Saturday though was a bit disappointing at our club as so few turned up for the roll-up; only two females played. Hope that players will remember that our Dales green is in action. Tuesday is forecast as another fine day and it will be interesting to see how many players turn up. The fact that a 11 o’clock Gala is to start on Wednesday and another roll up the next day, makes one wonders just how active our player will be. I got into the garden on Sunday and again today, so tomorrow is a bowling afternoon for me and out team is booked in for Wednesday. Let us hope there will be a good turnout, especially on Wednesday.
