It certainly has been a busy week both on and off greens.
A Week ago today, the Men’s Handicap Singles got under way, players needing at least two wins out of three to qualify. Always some surprises on who would be in action on Sunday and the final eventually was played by Barnaby Hamid and Omeka.
Barnaby and Omeka playing the final, delivering their bowl.
And the finalists …..
Runner-Up Barnaby and winner, Omeka Feaunati
And a follower of the match,
A keen observer who has been nesting in the shelter between green 1 & 2
Tuesday saw the start of Bowls Kapiti 2x4x2 Mixed Pairs and the club had 12 pairs taking part on Central, Waitarere Beach and one of our greens. It was not the best of days to qualify because of the weather and other conditions and I think only one of our teams made it through to Post-Section.
The weather again was not good and the final was played on Thursday between two teams from the Paraparaumu Beach Club.
Today, our women who entered their Handicap Singles played; 12 entries and at the end of play, six combinations qualified. The draw for tomorrow’s play, weather permitting is:
Round 1:- Lodzia Wnek v Joan Hayward and Diana McGill v Dianne Short
Round 2:- Winners from the above, to play each other and Liz Galloway v Bronwyn McMahon to play their match
These games will find the finalists.
Coming up this week is Round Two of Pennants. The teams selected and the draw, can be seen in the web site: http://www.levin.bowls.org.nz/Home.html
Enjoy you time at bowls …..without rain or wind for a change.
