Three bowls each for the players in today’s gala on the cotula green. All rinks were used and the green was running very well. There were no restrictions on team compositions, male, female or mixed, and it was an enjoyable day for all. Four games of 12 ends were played and all teams met the challenge of the game … and added to it was the cool weather. There we were in November, expecting a lovely summer’s day, and we did have one, sort of, but for some reason or another, the cool breeze let us know that we still had to ensure that we were well clad. The air movement wasn’t strong but for some reason or another, it let us know that we still weren’t free from it.
Let’s get on bowling, and that is what we did. My usual bowling partner, Susan, was not available so I had Martin join me and we had a good day, dropping just one game, to Joe and Pat. Joe lead very well and saw us drop the game.
The day ended with two teams winning all their games and the third place getter just missed out with a draw in their last game.
Thanks go to those usual much-needed helpers who made it was another successful day for the club. We do appreciate their efforts.
The days place-getters:
1st Larry Auckram and Barnaby Hamid – 4 wins, 29 ends, 69 points.
2nd Fred Adams and Omeka Feaunati – 4 wins, 26 ends, 58 points
3rd Bill Clelland and Robert Falconer – 3½ wins, 29 ends, 47 points.
