The Club’s Junior Women Pairs Final was played this afternoon, certainly in weather more suited to their games than it was on Saturday.
A Round Robin System was used and the final was reached and played between Ginny Williams and Diana McGill(s) and Ralda Adams and Glenda Rowsell(s).
To add to your confusion, the photos show the leads and skips as the opposing players.
Glenda and Diana
Just a pity that the teams were not viewed playing the final; it was a good chance to see how all the players were able to show the skills they have already developed in their play.
Congratulation to Diana and Ginny for taking out the championship.
Wednesdays are usually more noted by our men players for Rotary, played at various clubs during the summer season. Today’s games were scheduled to be played at Shannon and Central but the latter club was not available and RSA green was used. (Central had the sad occasion of holding a club member’s funeral service at their club)
At Shannon, Rob Cotter and his team had a win and I presume they will be given a 2nd win because their opposing team from Central was not present.
Jimmy Adams was given the opportunity of skipping our other team and they had a win and a loss.
At the RSA, I had watched Pat and his team reach the last end of their first game with the scores level. Leaving then, I had to wait until later in the afternoon to hear that they had completed the game with a win. Not so good in their second game, but I believe that our other team playing with skip Gordon Short, had the same results.
An interesting day all round for the club and its players.
