Hot Play on a Hot Day

Two of our three women’s team qualified today at the Paraparaumu Club – Dianne & Hazel and  Diana & Liz,  so we will look forward to their progress tomorrow.
Both our two men’s teams who played at theWaikanae Beach Club also qualified, Paul & Jimmy and Neville and Barry so we will also follow their progress.
We had four Pairs at the Raumati Club. From what I have heard, only one pair made it through, Fred and Omeka, but all played well even though they missed out on qualifying. On their return to our club at the end of play, John was able to report on their games; even though they went down, he was able to report quite clearly that their results were “All But”
I haven’t seen tomorrow’s draw yet but believe that overall, the men section will have 10 byes in the first round.

At our club we had an interesting afternoon of play. Certainly was hot. It was good to see two new members joining in the Roll-up, Jenny and Peter, both enjoying the game and the company of their team mates.
