A Big Day

It certainly was a big day at the club today. Both greens with all eight rinks taken, teams of triples from many clubs in the Centre, all playing in the Xmas Gala.
It was a 9.30am start and it was quickly seen that the weather was not going to be the best. There was no rain, but the sky was full of cloud and the wind was very strong and gusty throughout the day.
The draw was made as players arrived and teams were drawn to play on either the cotula green or the Dales artificial green.
Four games were scheduled,  9 ends or on a time limit with 2 played before lunch and 2 after.

Players arriving and registering.  Play on the cotula green

It was an interesting day for all the bowlers from so many different clubs.
Special thanks also to all who in one way or another assisted Margaret and her team, making the day such a success.
We ail, I’m sure, will look forward to next year.s  pre Christmas special gala — but no strong wind please
