Don’t Be Fooled

It’s Friday morning and what a lovely sunny start to the day.
But the previous two days were quite the opposite.
Wednesday was again the day for the 11.00am start for the weekly gala and the teams turned up though I wonder if some of the players were not sure if play would take place.
I went into town just after lunch and called in to see how things were going. The players were certainly well wrapped up but I decided that after watching for only 5 minutes, there was no reason to remain. I am sure that I have never felt so cold at bowls.
Yesterday was the roll-up afternoon and though the sun had been out in the morning, the afternoon soon changed to the cold conditions, not as bad as the previous day, but still cold.
It certainly proved to me how keen so many of our players are, the cold conditions seeming to do little in keeping them home in the warmth.
Discussion on the day’s play in the clubroom later seemed to keep all happy and warm.
Wonder how Saturday will turn out.
Snow
The view from the club. Snow can be seen on the Tararuas
A nice view perhaps, but it was a cold day.
