The woman’s Junior pairs was played as a best of three comp. between Julie & Jan and Jenny and Glenda. It turned out to be a very even affair with both teams playing lovely bowls and making the event very enjoyable to watch. Jan and Julie prevailed in two sets, however the scores were very even. The standard was very high and both teams should be proud of their performances.
The men’s event had six teams entered and was played as a round robin event, with all teams playing each other. All the teams were pleased with the concept and some really close match ups were the order of the weekend. In the final round three teams could have won, depending on the results. Grahame Law and Peter Brown won the event with 4 wins and 1 loss, Bill Clelland and Patrick Albert were runners up with 4 wins and 1 loss but had a lessor differential. This concept was a very good idea and Bill should be congratulated for coming up with something different. All players had the chance of being involved in close match play and decision making. They all will have developed further skills and improved their mental toughness.
Joe and Lodzia gave up their weekend to run the event, thanks to you both from everyone involved.
