While 40 of our own members were enjoying the Tuesday roll up on 10 November Kerry, Trevor and Sammy were busy helping 30 members of the Heartland XV enjoy a session of bowls before their match against the Australian Barbarians on the Levin Domain in the evening. The team seemed to be really enjoying the occasion and showing a good deal of skill at the same time. As I understand it the request to use our green came from the Horowhenua-Kapiti Rugby Union on Monday as the players had the day to fill in before a 5.30 pm kick off on the Domain. It was another demonstration of the value of our Dales green as a community asset and the willingness of our volunteers to help promote community activities.
