The Win Helped

Labour Day and a Mini Gala was held this afternoon for those who spent the day in their home town. A lovely sunny afternoon as well.
Entry fee, $2.00, and then the names were drawn for the three games of six ends.
Wins, ends and shots won were used to find the winners and resulted as follows:
1st – Colin MacDonald & Omeka – 3 wins, 11 ends , 17 points
2nd – Ian Wenham & Nola Morgan – 2½ wins, 12 ends, 18 points
3rd – John Mears & Dawn McQuillan 2½ wins, 11 ends, 20 points

I played John in the last game and he drew three shots to draw the match, which put us out of the winning spot.
And this is where the heading for today’s Blog came from. Colin received his share of the winner’s prize and this would have helped him with his donations to the Wrong Bias box, another 2 today. When will he learn to check his bowl??
He paid up with a smile and perhaps one could say ‘keep up the good work Colin,’ but perhaps at bowls, this is not really appropriate.
