Today’s Stars

There were not many at todays 2x4x2 Bowen Pairs, but those who played enjoyed a bit of sunshine.

I had Ian Averis and Joe had Jack Grey which was interesting just because Jack played with me yesterday in the gala.

Jack and Ian had a good tussle during the game and on this particular end, they did so well that a photo was needed as a record of the skill.

Jack left and Ian on the right, both with handy bowls

but Jack had the shot.

As I said, Jack played for me yesterday, had some good shot and some,….. well….. but today, he was on the Kitty time after time, playing with good line and length. A great performance – I would have loved to hear him telling his wife all about it when he got home.

Later in the day, it was Corner to Corner time and we found another winner.

The strangest attempt today came from Omeka whose bowl arrived right on the edge of the green and then ran along towards the corner. It threatened to be the winning bowl but stopped just short and what’s more, didn’t drop into the ditch which was quite surprising.

If you’ve heard Omeka laugh, I assure you he was laughing when all this happened.
