The usual wind was available for the full field in today’s gala. Pleasing to see the usual teams from Foxton Beach joining us and a special welcome to Ted Bright from the Waikanae Club who brought with him two players from Australia. (I wonder what they thought of the weather!)
Only one team went through undefeated so congratulation to Murray Griffin (s), Judy Johnston and Maree Anstis. It must have been a special sigh of relief from the team when Murray’s run at the head on the last end of one of their games when 6 down, saw the Jack end up in the ditch to give them the win. Great shot Murray.
Special thanks to new member Ian Upston’s wife Connie who came in to help in the kitchen when our Kitchen convenor was called in to fill a late vacancy in one team.
