(A report from Margaret Griffin, Match Committee Convenor)
Fourteen teams played in humid and sometimes damp conditions. Having a delayed start of 1 hr, play was cut down to 3 games of 8 ends.
Teams came from Bulls, Foxton Beach, Central Levin, Levin and 2 ladies (1 from Shannon and 1 from Levin Women’s played with one of our club members to make up a team to save having a bye.
Our sponsor for the day was ‘Steeds Pharmacy’ which has generously been our sponsor for this gala for 24 years, which is a wonderful achievement.

Our thanks also must go to the 2 men in the kitchen, David Lowndes and Francis Wilson, and Coral who always does a great job doing the raffles for us, also to all the ladies who donated baking for the day.
While waiting for the weather to allow play to begin, all present were given a wee dram of Canterbury Cream which I thought was a lovely idea that Dianne had. This was well received by all.
In spite of a not so pleasant day, I feel it was a successful one, so once again, thank you everyone.
