A Changing Day

The Men’s Triples Gala had been cancelled because of insufficient entries, but the weather would have had caused it to be cancelled as well.

By 1.00pm, the sun was shining and we were able to have a roll-up on Green 1; water was still lying on the cotula and didn’t finally disappear until around 3.00pm.

We were not only blessed with a sunny afternoon, it became so hot that it was draining any energy we had, and I was pleased when we stopped playing mid afternoon.

Time to go home and get cleaned up ready for Business House.

Arriving at the club around 5.30pm, the view towards the coast wasn’t encouraging and soon, Moutere could not be seen and light rain set in.

As only one green was available, two games of 4 ends were played , one each from the two sections that have been now formed after the preliminary rounds.

Some stayed around for a meal/drink and to hopefully collect their raffle prize but others chose to make the best of things and head off home and get into dry clothes.

As it turned out, the weather cleared and another round could have been played but too many teams were by then, not available.

The weather had certainly dictated the days play.
