Yesterday we were able to witness the final of the KCBC Men’s Triples at our club and those who were there, and saw real class bowls played. especially from the winning skip, Ray Boffa.
The first two ends went to the Paraparaumu team, scoring 3 on each end with the three members of the team all playing bowls of a high standard.
Maurice Vangioni, the Waikanae Skip, was faced with the difficult task of saving on many ends, achieving this at times, but the pressure from the opposition was maintained throughout the game. We all appreciated the difficult task he had and we admired the fine spirit all players showed throughout the game.
Ray Boffa played great bowls; delicate draws, shots to push out a shot bowl and when necessary, full attack, and it was rare if he did not achieve the result he was after.
Both teams had played well to get through to the final, but it was the Paraparaumu Beach players who, on the day, were all in top form.
Our thanks go to both teams for giving us a real bowling treat!

Paraparaumu Beach and Waikanae players:
