It had to come to an end and today was the day. Starting 6 weeks before Christmas, the Grant’s Corner to Corner competition continued in the New Year and today was the last chance to find the overall winner. Names were taken by Eileen from those who wanted to enter tonight and when 5.00pm arrived, Margaret MacKay got the competitors underway.
Across to the opposite corner was the target, some failed and were out, others still remaining, competed back to the first corner. Same process, some more out, a few left, across went the bowls and then the final time came.
Real serious stuff. But Murray who still had two bowls, showed how easy it was by getting them both closest to the target corner. The win was his. Well done Murray. We will all be making sure we don’t play long ends against you in any of our up and coming matches!!
We now have the job of finding a ‘winner’ from the weekly winners to represent the club at the area final. Still to hear when this will be held.
Murray, his bowl, and the prize being presented by Margaret.
