Have just had a phone call from a friend who asked me if I was one of the players they saw on the bowling green this morning when they drove past.
Strange that this happened because I remember saying to one of our players in today’s 2x4x2 gala, “I wonder what people think of us, standing out here on the green playing bowls when the temperature is so obviously cooooold.
Yes it was cold and I was hoping that the forecasted rain would arrive so that play would be called off, but this didn’t happen. So it was four games of 8 ends, and I can’t say I enjoyed it.
At least three teams did have a break because a bye in each round was necessary because one team didn’t turn up.
Yes, you guessed it, Susan and I didn’t get one.
So we played All games and at the end of the day, all we managed – two draws and two losses.
But some did play well and were called to receive their prize and congratulations:
