Work and Play

The calm sunny day suited both today – for work and play.

There we were at the club this afternoon, really appreciating the sun shining down on us as we took part in the three games gala.

All rinks were needed and, for a change, we played in the north/south direction. Games were all of eight ends, so a team’s target was to not only win each game, but to do so with as many ends won as possible.

(The winning team at the end of play is the one with the most wins. Today, three teams won all their games so ends won became the next deciding factor in sorting out the winners.)

Results:

1st   P Wikstrom (s), G Virtue, G Mclauchlan – 3 wins, 17 ends and 21 points

2nd  N Turnbull (s), S Turnbull, M Lowndes – 3 wins, 15 ends and 38 points

3rd  D Walker (s), M Griffin, R Walker – 3 wins, 14 ends and 27 points.

And while we played, Trevor found the weather conditions suitable and sprayed the cotula green. (no idea what for, but obviously it was necessary!)

The weather suited us all.
