A smile for this special event from Elaine Thorn and May KauKau.
This annual event was again popular, with players from Petone Central, Foxton Beach, Manakau, Waitarere and our own club taking part using both the cotula and artificial greens.
The club thanks I C Mark for sponsoring the event and at the end of play, prizes were presented by their representative, Murray Easton.
So much help is needed to get such an event running, and our Match Committee chairperson, Margaret Griffin, thanked them all for their work.
Following afternoon tea the winners were presented with their prizes –
Green 1:
1st – Fred Adams, Joan Hayward and Omeka – 4 wins, 25 ends and 50 points.
2nd – Murray Griffin, Pat White and Jack Frost – 3½ wins, 25 ends, 47 points
3rd – Gordon Buick, G Thorby and M Williams – 3 wins, 21 ends, 40 points.
Green 2:
1st – Dave Walker, Shoota Ballinger and Ra Walker – 4 wins, 25 ends and 66 points
2nd – Dianne Short, Hazel Rose and Paul Gardner – 3½ wins, 22 ends, 56 points
3rd – Roy Sewell, B Anstis, and Olive Courtney – 2½ wins, 22 ends and 56 points.
