Seven rinks in this afternoon’s play – mixed 2x4x2.
Good to see so many out in the sun and it was also a pleasure to see two new faces on the green.
Gary brought his son along and as can be seen, he has a nice style, picked up from when his class came over from college. I believe he will come again before leaving soon for Norway. (Not sure that they play the game over there but he will no doubt have plenty on his hands.) It would have given Gary and Bryce pleasure to win their game as a team.
Another new face at the club today was John Adams (no relation to Fred) and he has already posted his application to become a full time member.
He has played bowls for some time but has been overseas for a number of years and has now returned to New Zealand. As can be seen by his style, he has the makings of a very good club member.
Here we can see our club member Jack Gray who was my partner in today’s game. He was using some new bowls today and it was good to see that he was playing very well with them. For some time, Jack has been making regular donations to our Wrong Bias box but today, not a sign of a bowl heading in the wrong direction. As well, he was taking good green and weight with his bowls, all of which showed that he was not only enjoying the sunny afternoon, but was getting pleasure from playing good bowls. Keep it up Jack.
