You just might ask what we mean by a ‘Wrong Bias.” and seeing two of them today, made me decided to tell all readers what one was, just in case it was something unknown to them.
Quite simple really: when a bowler releases their bowl, it should curve out and then in towards the Jack, but, if it goes out and continues to go further away, a Wong Bias has been delivered.
There were two done today, one by Vern and the other… I have to admit it, it was my bowl that headed off across the green. First time since my last effort some time ago, and hopefully, the last for some time. In talking to a regular bowler who manages to do them quite often, he was pleased to tell me that he hadn’t done one for a least two weeks!!
All present after the games today heard about my effort because when you pay up for the error, the bell is rung to announce the deed.
We had a good turn out today even though it was cool and quite gloomy for most of the time. It was a mixed draw afternoon but as always, a lot of fun.
Our hope is that the coming weekend will be fine as the cub is holding a two day mixed gala. Fingers crossed from now on.
