I just wonder what our opponents were doing this afternoon to Jan, Stafford and me.
We thought we would have a good game but, with the final score at 22 – 2, (I think that was what it was..not much point in looking at the board), it seemed that our opponents in todays roll-up had other plans.
Ian’s blue bowls came up the green and ended near the jack, three of them, and then they were followed by Susan’s new ones, obviously planning on joining Ian’s …..and succeeding. Neville, well he had an armchair ride, but, if necessary, drew in for a shot… or pushed a bowl out or….whatever was needed he generally played it.
Made me wonder what Susan was doing, making life so difficult for me, as she and I play so often together, she must have known that I already knew she had all the skills!
What about us, little to say, but to show how things were going, up came one of our bowls and it sat on the Jack (didn’t stay long), the next effort was a wrong bias and number three was so narrow it nearly headed out.
What I’m really saying is that they played great bowls  today.  Hope Susan does it again on Sunday when we are playing together.
A frustrating afternoon, but really a pleasure seeing a team all doing well.
