The first day for our Tuesday Roll-ups was held on the cotula green today and after being cut twice by Toni, the green was running very well for this time of the year.
There was a good turnout for the 2x4x2 and different from previous years at about the same time, most players were having little difficulty reaching the head. A good start.
Noted two wrong bias’s today, one from Omeka, something not often seen from him. We all heard his loud chuckle. The other, perhaps I will just keep it in mind for the time being, presuming that it resulted from the player being distracted by Omeka.
I had an email from Neville today in which he had some statistical information about the club’s membership. I have attached it to this blog for your information.
Some interesting findings for the committee to ponder, I came across the Levin Bowling Club’s inventory (from the KCBC) of it’s membership 16/09/2001….
On that date there was 115 full members playing bowls, if we break that down and see what has happened to those members eight years later….
Women: 62 full playing members
45 not playing bowls at LBC (died, resigned ect..)
4 now limited playing members
13 remain full playing members
Men: 53 full playing members
31 not playing bowls at LBC
7 now limited playing members
15 remain full playing members
Totals: 115 full playing members
76 not now playing bowls at the LBC
11 are now limited playing members
28 remain full playing members
Kind regards
Neville
