Thanks Guy. Our focus is still our website www.levin.bowls.org.nz where all our championships, galas and tournaments can now be entered online. My reasoning for this is to try and cut down the work load on administration aspects of the club, especially match committee and secretary. We now have all our members in our online database including our social and associates. This means all our members information are now at the figure tips of our executive.
It does take time to implement changes even for such a forward thinking club like ours but we are getting there. We also have all our secretaries files online which means any of our executive can also access these. So when I move on all the files will be available for the next person who steps up to the mark. We have implemented another major change just recently a very professional accounting package. Our new treasurer is learning the system but it interfaces with the bank and you can add cash book transactions straight out of the bank statement when doing a bank reconciliation. We have managed to get this incredible package free, only paying for the install and some training.
The FB page is about adding a fun aspect for our club members and if other bowlers from other clubs wish to be friends then I see no problem with this. It’s all about getting “Lawn Bowls” out there so all clubs can prosper.
